THE WORLDS RICHEST VANDALAs Banksy turns fifty and his auction results continue to soften the question on everyone’s lips is what can we expect next from the elusive artist/activist. Ubiquitous and anonymous in equal measure his market has become ever more reliant on stunts, from the headline stealing ‘Love is in the bin’ [Shredded Girl With Balloon] to the carefully choreographed yet crime-less theatre of Peckham’s ‘Stop The Drones’ road sign fiasco. Is now the time to re-evaluate the artists true legacy. Not the cleverly constructed and vigorously [Pest Control] policed empire of print and canvas multiples that have made him rich. But to the street works, the lost leaders left vulnerable to the rigours of overzealous council workers and envious over-taggers.But there remain a small but notable number of surviving works, salvaged from the wrecking ball and council connivance, that will confirm Banksy as the 21st Century’s most important artist.I invite you to consider the notion of an entirely new and untapped market, one that falls firmly outside the jurastiction of Pest Control an exciting opportunity to forge a new frontier, the rewards of which are boundless. Will Banksy support or condone such heresy, very likely not but by his own admission as stated in his most recent exhibition catalogue...“The canvases, the prints, all the “proper” art I’ve made doesn’t matter.. Only the streetwork will last.”Banksy - Cut & Run, 2023

"What is it about these 12 pictures in particular – which the gallery is describing as its “National Treasures” – that has earned them a place in our cultural consciousness?"Excited - and slightly manic - as everyone, here in London and around the UK, prepares for a birthday celebration like no other. This piece has been a highlight (except for the word "venues" which I try my hardest never to use!)https://lnkd.in/emxdx4Y2

Christ the Redeemer, an art deco statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is on my travel wish list too. I’d love to experience the size and scope of the statue and also what look to be insane views overlooking the city. #illustratedriodejaneiro #illustratedbrazil #illustratedcities#womenofillustration

When it comes to acquiring great, original art, there is a common misconception that it must come with a hefty price tag. However, this couldn't be further from the truth. There are numerous ways to find and purchase high-quality, original pieces at great prices. By seeking out alternative avenues for purchasing fine art, individuals can enjoy the beauty and creativity of original and unique artwork without breaking the bank.https://lnkd.in/e37H4vnw

The Pineapple Theory Germany week special! The fountain of JusticeEven since the Middle Ages, Römerberg square in Frankfurt served as the spiritual and functional center of the city. Featuring the Town Hall and several important buildings, it also features a flagship built in 1543 call, Justitiabrunnen, meaning the Fountaine of Justice. During the air raids of World War II, most of Römerberg was reduced to rubble, but the fountain and figure of Justitia remained mostly undamaged. The statue itself was removed and erected at an American soldier’s headquarters and was eventually returned. In the 1970s, the construction of a subway and underground garage saw the fountain displaced, and it was eventually rebuilt at the original location. Renovations to the monument designed to address issues caused by pollution were supported by donations. In 1611, the current eight-cornered fountain was created along with a new Justitia figure created out of red sandstone. In 1652, 1705, and 1770, renovations took place, and centuries had taken their toll on the monument. The current Justitia, which is made of bronze, was funded by a Frankfurt wine merchant in 1887 and is based on the original stone sculpture.Römerberg serves as the midpoint of the city center and draws people from Frankfurt, and visitors from all over the world, to experience avariety of eventsas well as the history and culture that fills the area. The Fountain of Justice represents this history, and culture in a powerful way, enabling a legacy that will only become more significant as time goes on.There are 3 German proverbs that, in perspective, may serve to harvest this brief highlight of history: You have to take things the way they come.Good things take time.Nothing is impossible for love.
