It's estimated that 78 billion land animals are killed every year for food. To put that in context, around 117 billion people have lived throughout human history (including people alive today). So every 1,5 years we are killing more animals than the total number of people who have ever lived. And this isn't to moralise what people should or shouldn't eat. I eat cheese/eggs myself since most vegans I know look miserable & unhealthy. But it is good to pause and reflect on whether we would still be OK with a little bit less animal suffering. ** Views expressed are entirely my own and do not necessarily represent any organisation I'm affiliated with **

industrial animal farming is a really horrible practice. My wife and I try to get as much of our meat as possible from local farmers where we know the animals live a good life out in the open and just have one bad day.

😭 many of us have cried over this insane practice. None of us can understand the mentality of anyone doing this to animals. It’s just not right is it?🤷🏼♀️ there are so many scientists themselves working hard to create new methods, methods that do not involve animals in cruel research. Why are these not the only methods?🙏 we need your support to help stop vivisection and our website has things you can do to make this happen.https://lnkd.in/eMpMgxUg #theprocessofanimaltestinghasneverbeenscientificallyvalidated #beagles #vivisection #homeoffice https://lnkd.in/eiBT6KQw

Animal cafes are a global novelty, particularly in Japan, where customers can play with animals such as cats, dogs, rabbits, hedgehogs, penguins and capybaras. Closer inspection reveals rampant neglect and mistreatment in these cafes. Daily human interaction is stressful for animals. We should ban or regulate these cafes to protect animals. #animalcafes #regulateanimalcafes #protectanimals

Animal Altruism and HumansThe standard definition of altruism applies to both humans and animals: an act that benefits another at some cost to oneself. However, in animals, it's often driven by evolutionary benefits, not necessarily conscious intent. Here are some terms that might be more specific than "humanity" depending on the context:Reciprocal altruism: This describes animals helping each other with the expectation of future help in return. Kin selection: This explains why animals help close relatives, as they share a lot of genes. Empathy: While controversial in animals, some species might exhibit empathy-like behaviors that motivate helping others.Lessons from Ecosystems for CommunitiesAnimal societies offer valuable lessons for building strong human communities:Cooperation: Species that cooperate thrive. We can learn from this by fostering collaboration within communities. Collective Benefit: Many animal behaviors prioritize the good of the group. Thinking about the community's well-being can benefit us all.Diversity: Many ecosystems rely on a variety of species. Likewise, diverse communities with a range of skills and perspectives are stronger.Building Resilience and Sustainable LivingUnderstanding ecosystems can help us create more resilient and sustainable communities:Symbiosis: Some species live in mutually beneficial relationships. We can learn to develop similar partnerships within communities. Resource Management: Ecosystems function through a balance of resource use. We can learn to manage resources sustainably for long-term well-being.Adaptation: Species adapt to changing environments. Communities that can adapt to challenges will be more resilient.By studying animal societies and ecosystem dynamics, we can build stronger, more sustainable communities that prioritize cooperation, collective good, and long-term well-being. We are Animals living with other animals. We all are sentient species (Having feelings, memory, imaginations and sentience).Slaughtering causes pains, sufferings, ill feelings, negativity, fear, hatred and mercilessness.Although Plants and trees are living things BUT they are not "Living Beings". Try and understand the difference.Over the above Animal Slaughter causes #climatechange and #unethical society.#BeVegan
